Hawthorn Sugar Scrub

It is that time of year when the lovely Hawthorn tree is about to burst with delicious berrys and we can set forth collecting to make jams, and hawthorn ketchup, all sorts of delicious delights. But have you thought of making a Hawthorn sugar scrub. A natural skin treat. This scrub not only exfoliates your skin but also provides antioxidants and a lovely fragrance that will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

Fresh hawthorn berries

Dried rose hips (deseeded)

Dried orange peel

Amond oil

Brown or white Sugar

A few drops of essential oil of choice

Wash and dry the fresh hawthorn berries. Remove any stems or leaves.

In a bowl, crush the hawthorn berries, dried rose hips, and dried orange peel to release their natural oils and fragrances.

Add the crushed ingredients to a bowl of sugar. The sugar will act as the exfoliating agent in the scrub.

Add almond oil about a tablespoon, but judge it dependant on the amount you are making, just enough to coat the mixture. Add a few drops up to 5 of the essential oil of your choice. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to ensure an even distribution of hawthorn berries, rose hips, orange peel and the oil throughout the sugar.

Transfer the scrub to an airtight container for storage. It can be kept in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.

Usage: To use, Use a scoop to take a small amount of the scrub and gently massage it onto damp skin in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water for soft and smooth skin.

Moisturizing and Nourishing: Although scrubs are meant to be rinsed away, they still contain deeply nourishing oils, which get infused into the skin as you scrub. The excess moisture will wash off, leaving your skin feeling smooth, soft, and supple.

Exfoliation: Sugar helps to exfoliate dead skin cells, revealing fresh skin underneath.

Antioxidants: Hawthorn berries, rose hips, and orange peel provide antioxidants that nourish and protect the skin.

Fragrance: The natural fragrance of hawthorn berries and citrus adds a refreshing scent to your skincare routine.

Give this Hawthorn Sugar Scrub a try for a rejuvenating and natural skincare experience. Enjoy! and thank the hawthorn tree for her bounty.
